City trips from Lipno

From Lipno many city trips can be made to the following beautiful places, among others.

Cesky Krumlov
Cesky Krumlov is located 30 km from Lipno and is an urban monument reserve listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The old town, with beautiful buildings and baroque courtyards on the banks of the Vltava River, is well worth a visit. Furthermore, this city is the cultural center of South Bohemia because of its many music festivals, art centers and other cultural activities.

Ceské Budìjovice
Ceské Budìjovice is the largest city in South Bohemia and is located 50 km from Lipno. This town has a historic city center with numerous attractions. One of the special features is the Black Tower which offers a magnificent view of the city and its surroundings. Also located here is the Budweiser Beer Brewery where one can take a guided tour.

Passau
Passau is a city district in the German state of Bavaria near the Austrian border about 88 km from the Resort. Three rivers meet in the Old Town: the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz, which is why the city is also called Dreiflüssestadt. Although the Inn is the widest of the three rivers, the continuation of these three streams is still called Danube, because the Danube is the longest of the three. In the inner city there are many old buildings from 14th to 17th centuries.

Linz
Linz is a city in Austria, located on the Danube River 52 km from the Resort. It is the capital of the state of Upper Austria and, with 188,968 inhabitants (2006), the third largest city in the country. It is an important industrial city. It is also the city of mathematician Johannes Kepler and composer Anton Bruckner, both of whom worked there. The University of Linz is named after Kepler and the conservatory after Bruckner. In 2009, Linz is one of the two cultural capitals of Europe.

Prague
Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic, located 200 km from Lipno. Prague is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and its historic center is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. It is therefore the sixth most touristic city in Europe. A day or weekend trip is definitely worthwhile.

Vienna
Vienna is the capital of Austria and is located 230 km from Lipno. The city is the cultural and political center of Austria. Vienna is the city of palaces, museums, opera and the Spanish Riding School. Vienna is also within easy reach for a visit of 1 or more days.
