Summer vacations in the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic has many lakes, rivers and streams. And with that, many beaches, little beaches and nooks where you can sunbathe by the water.

Lakes Lipno, Orlík and Slapy in the Moldau, Lake Nové Mlýny in the Dyje near Mikulov and the lakes near Trebon are popular with sun-worshippers.

The Czech Republic has a continental climate. This means for summers they are nice and warm.

Lipno Lake is a popular destination for a summer vacation in the Czech Republic.

Because of the many activities, you will not have to be bored for a moment. Below are some of the possibilities that make your summer vacation at lipno lake successful.

Hiking
South Bohemia is a mecca for hikers. Lipno is located in the largest contiguous forest area in Europe. Nature here is unspoiled and vast. Villapark Lipno Dreams is located directly on a forest edge. You walk straight from your vacation villa into the woods. Walking routes are available at the reception desk.

Cycling
There are many cycling trails in the Lipno area. Around the Lipno Lake alone about 80 km. Since a few years there is also a new lighted cycling path along the Lipno Lake. This 8.5 km paved bicycle path connects the town of Lipno with Frymburk and is very suitable for both cyclists and in-line skaters.
The path offers beautiful views of Lipno Lake. Along the path there are several rest areas so that there is regular opportunity to take a break and enjoy the fantastic view.

Also, you can use the brand new Bikepark Lipno by mountain bike. A 1500 meter long descent for the adventurous mountain biker. You can possibly take the 4 person chairlift up and then enjoy cycling down (for beginners, families and children from 6 years).

Water sports
Especially the left bank of Lipno Lake and namely the part the villages Lipno and Horni Plana, is used for recreation and water sports. You can swim or surf here, as well as rent boats and pedal boats. There is a regular boat service and a large marina called Marina Lipno.

Fishing
Lake Lipno is also a true fishing paradise and is also called "the fishing pearl of South Bohemia." The lake is known for its big fish. Especially zander and carp. But roach, bream, catfish and trout are also caught here.
Unfortunately, because Lake Lipno is located in a nature reserve and the fish stock is actively monitored, the fishing license is expensive. Another reason for this is that the fish caught end up on the BBQ in the evening. In the Czech Republic carp is a delicacy. At Christmas people eat carp instead of turkey.

Toboggan run
The toboggan run is open all year round and is located right next to Villapark Lipno Dreams. With its length (1 km), variety (21 curves, 2 tunnels and slopes), as well as its location in beautiful nature with fantastic views of Lipno Lake, the toboggan run is a real experience.
Children from 3 years of age can enjoy the toboggan run together with an adult. From 8 years of age on, this can be done independently.

Golf
Golfclub Krumlov and Golfclub Sterngartl (Austria) are both located about 35 km from Lipno. Golf Club Nad Vltavou is located 65 km from Villapark Lipno Dreams. This course is beautifully located next to the castle Hluboka.

Sports Hall
When the weather is bad, you can play sports in the Lipno sports complex. Here you will find tennis, squash and badminton courts, a bowling center, climbing wall and golf simulator. For your relaxation, there are hot tubs and massage facilities as well as a sauna and sunbathing area. A restaurant completes the offer

Lookout tower
With a great sense of aesthetics, a wooden lookout tower has been integrated into the forests of Lipno. The watchtower is 40 meters high and is accessible over a 675-meter slightly sloping path. During the 675-meter trek through the tops of the trees you will have breathtaking views of the Alps, almost the entire Lipno Lake, the beautiful surroundings of the Šumava Mountains and the Novohradské Mountains. Once you reach the top, you can possibly go down via a 50-meter-long slide.
The path is also easily accessible for people with strollers, seniors and the disabled.
The tower is open every day of the year except December 24. The tower can be reached on foot, by bus or by ski elevator.

Ropes course
The ropes course overlooking Lake Lipno offers more than 500 m of ropes adventure. There are several ropes routes, suitable for both children and adults.

Other activities in and around Lipno
From the Moldau you can move downstream in a raft or canoe. Be careful: the rapids not infrequently cause you to get wet. For some extra excitement, visit the karting and shooting track in the town of Frymburk.
You can also test your frisbee skills at the Frisbee Park with 9 lanes, the longest of which is 1500 meters.
